The 7 Things That Healthy People Do

After a good amount of research we have compiled and condensed the habits of healthy people into what we feel to be a comprehensive list. These are the 7 things that truly healthy people do. We are not just talking about those who are "in shape" or "at an average weight"; we define healthy as mentally, physically, emotionally, and even spiritually well.

1. Sleep
When you do not get enough sleep, every part of your existence suffers. You can't think as effectively, your body does not have enough energy to exercise and move throughout the day, and you are not as emotionally stable as you should be. Sleep is frustrating because it is the one thing on this whole list that requires a large and predetermined amount of time every day; however, it is also first on this list, because everything else will be more difficult to accomplish if you do not get enough of it.

2. Water
Studies have shown that 75% of people today are dehydrated. Water is a key part of our existence. In fact, like sleep, without enough water we cannot think, exercise, or feel effectively.

3. Live an Active Lifestyle
It is not surprise that this is on here, but living an active lifestyle means more than just working out. It means spending time outside everyday, making exercise a priority, and maximizing the time that you are exercising. Going to the gym and working on the same machine or doing the same exercises that you always do will not make you healthier, in fact it can have the opposite effect. There will come a point when you think to yourself, "Even if I did not have a good workout today, I can just wait until tomorrow or next week to try again". If you do this enough, your workouts will all likely suffer and you may start slipping into bad habits.

4. Self-Appreciating and Self-Building
Health is just as much a state of mind as it is a state of being. Find time to spend alone or with God. Use this time to self-asses, build self-confidence, determine your true desires, and create a plan for your day or week. Remember to smile, because it not only makes you happier, it also can brighten other peoples' day.

5. Build Up Others
Being healthy is about remembering that you have to balance work, self-improvement, and your social life. We are on this Earth with other people, so spend time with them. Mental health not only means that you are focused on your personal strengths, but also take the time to build up the confidence of others.

6. Nutrition
This should be no surprise to you, but the things that you put in your body have a direct influence on your body, mind, and spirit. Ask someone you know that has lost weight or has started eating healthy and they will tell you how much better they feel. Three things are too often neglected when it comes to health: fruits, vegetables, and supplements. Many studies show the importance of these three, so why do so many people let them fall to the wayside?

7. Everything in Moderation
This is a very important piece of advice because it reminds us that even though health is important, it should not replace the freedom to live our lives to the fullest. There is nothing wrong with eating a burger or nice steak every once in a while, as long as you do not lose sight of your goals.

When you do not live at your healthiest, you will not just be hurting yourself; you can also very much hurt those around you. If you have made it this far in the blog, I sincerely hope that you are willing to add these seven aspects of health to your life; after all, you have no idea how much of a difference it will make until you do.
